New Routine

Morgan Freeman’s character in the movie The Bucket List enlightens us about ancient Egyptians’ beliefs in the afterlife. He says, when they [the Egyptians] die and get to heaven’s doors, the gatekeepers will ask two questions:

  • Have you found joy in your life?
  • Has your life brought joy to others?

Their answers will determine whether they can enter or not.

Well, I don’t want to get too philosophical about this bucket-list business. Everyone, I believe, keeps a bucket list (for whatever reason) — photographers and photography enthusiasts (like me) especially. Mine, however, is short: FIND A NEW ROUTINE… that’s why I’ve been climbing mountains and trekking lately. Temporarily, the fish in me takes a backseat, favoring the mountain goat inside.

… Thinks to himself, I’m so feeble with the ladies and I —

I’m so, I’m so sick of this place
I’m so ready for a change of pace
I’m just looking for a new routine.

So he grabs his cap
Throws a dart at a map
And now he’s living in Bowling Green…

About Seeing with Brahmin eyes
My sense of humor can be keen, sarcastic, silly or corny -- sometimes all at once. I enjoy meeting new people with no preconceived ideas about what or what is not possible. You get much more out of life by being open minded and willing. I'm an easy going, good-natured person who loves life and loves people. I'm both optimistic and realistic and pretty objective when it comes to assessing situations, events, etc. In general I am a very positive person and you'll usually find we with a smile on my face.
